Melody Mock (mmock) is a web designer, consultant, artist, musician, and writer who has been involved in the Albuquerque arts scene since moving to New Mexico in 1996. Most of her positions over the years also involved designing and/or maintaining websites. Realizing there is a need for people to be able to update their own websites, she began developing refined content-managed sites so that clients may manage their own material.
While program director (1999-2004) at Magnifico (now 516 ARTS), she curated and/or directed many art exhibits, including the annual regional juried exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum. She was also curator at the Inpost Artspace at the Outpost Performance Space, as well as Contemporary Albuquerque, an online gallery of local contemporary art. From 2006-2009, she was the gallery director of Artspace 116 and project director at The Collector's Guide (and did extensive design and maintenence on both websites).
She plays violin with Frank McCulloch y sus Amigos and performed with E. Christina Herr and Wild Frontier. She wrote on art and music for Albuquerque Arts Magazine and is a consultant for several local nonprofit organizations, including OASIS Albuquerque, VSA North Fourth Art Center, and Loren Kahn Puppet & Object Theatre.
Mock holds an MA in art history from the University of North Texas in Denton and a BFA in visual arts from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.
